Brilliant Britain day
Friday 6th March 2015
As part of our Brilliant Britain day, children throughout the school took part in learning activities based around key British values.
Here Year 1 are voting for their favourite British dish, understanding that each person gets a vote.
In a special assembly we had the chance to reflect on values we think are important in school, including honesty, hard work, fun, kindness, resilience - defined by one child as, "It means you try again even if you get it wrong," and ambition - thought of by another child as, "Aiming for something."
Children also identified, "Democracy" and, "The right to be different," as key values, and we discussed why the rule of law is important to keep us safe, how our individual liberty is to be cherished and what we do in school to encourage mutual respect and tolerance.
